US smart bombs shipped to Israel via Qatar (1 August 2006) - THE "Ashark el-Awsat" daily quoted well informed sources as saying that Washington has decided to speed up the process to deliver smart bombs to Israel via the "Eidid" base in Qatar, where the US Central Command is based. In Tel Aviv, unofficial sources confirmed "New York Times" reports that Washington sped up the delivering process of the smart bombs, which consist of developed missiles capable of penetrating bunkers and tunnels, reaching 30 to 40 meters under ground. The sources added that these missiles will be used to pound "Hezbollah's fortifications" under ground in a bid to "eliminate" the party's leadership, including Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
